I don't know the previous releases of Unru yet, but having listened to this and read the comments here I'm sure going to change that. I enjoy the atmospheric parts very much as they remind me of long gone days of dark wave. And it's a very versatile and well balanced work. I'm very much looking forward to see Unru live on Easter Monday with Ultha!

Sun Worship’s earlier work felt very promising to me, but I wasn’t totally seized with it. This album is another story. Upon first listen in 2020, Emanations of Desolation felt like an epiphany, and it still feels that way in 2023. Up there with Ultha’s best in my personal pantheon of German metal.
